SUNBURY — Tom Forney of PhaseOne Marketing & Design attended a photography workshop conducted by Rich Russo in Chesapeake City, MD in February.

The three-day workshop included lighting techniques, composition, posing, photography tools and Photoshop’s role in digital photography.

Forney, who has been with PhaseOne since its opening in 1983, performs the in-house photography services for both PhaseOne and AdOne Advertising Specialties.

Rich Russo is a professional photographer who owns the studio, Rich Russo Photography.

PhaseOne awarded bid for Destination Guide
SUNBURY — PhaseOne Marketing & Design of Sunbury was awarded the Valleys of the Susquehanna Destination Guide in January. Five other design agencies also bid on the project.

The Destination Guide is a new marketing project targeting empty nesters and couples. It will be an eight-section guide detailing tourism opportunities in the central and northcentral regions of the state. PhaseOne will be designing and executing the entire project. The finished Destination Guide, due out in April, will be distributed throughout Pennsylvania and other states to attract visitors to our area.

The Valleys of the Susquehanna is a regional group encompassing six area visitors bureaus and the 10 counties they represent.

Design firm completes bank’s corporate package
SUNBURY — PhaseOne Marketing & Design of Sunbury designed and completed a corporate package for West Milton State Bank and won the bid for the bank’s annual report.

The corporate package is an innovative pocket folder with 10 stepped slits containing color-coded tri-fold brochures explaining banking products and services available through West Milton State Bank. The folder and inserts work together to create a professional, cohesive image that will also be reflected in the annual report.

The annual report is a 24-page plus cover printed piece that will highlight the fiscal year’s financial data and West Milton State Bank’s commitment to the communities it serves. PhaseOne will be designing the project as well as supplying photography, copywriting and print management services.

PhaseOne, AdOne name new president
SUNBURY — In November PhaseOne Marketing & Design and AdOne Advertising Specialties named a new president for the first time in the company’s 22-year history. Larry Underkoffler, founder and president of both companies, passed the title to his son, Greg, who has been acting Vice President for eight years.

Greg began working with his father at PhaseOne while he was still in school and his involvement with the company grew until he assumed control of the day-to-day operations of both PhaseOne and AdOne when Larry semi-retired.

As president, Greg plans to continue to grow both PhaseOne and AdOne’s services and client-bases. PhaseOne designs Chorale’s marketing projects
SUNBURY, Pa. — PhaseOne Marketing & Design of Sunbury recently worked with the Susquehanna Valley Chorale to design and produce a series of concert promotional pieces.

PhaseOne created the Chorale’s annual tri-fold brochure. The brochure, featuring a stylish die-cut, offers information about the upcoming concert season. In addition to the brochure, PhaseOne designed promotional posters and newspaper ads for the SVC’s fall concert.

PhaseOne also designed the quarterly newsletter and fall concert program for the Chorale. All pieces use an elegant, classical design that will be used on upcoming promotional pieces for the rest of the Chorale’s concert season.

The Susquehanna Valley Chorale performed their Ceremony of Psalms concert on October 30. Their upcoming Christmas Joy program will feature the music of Ralph Vaughan Williams on December 17 and 18 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Sunbury.

PhaseOne develops print materials for Albright Care Services
SUNBURY — PhaseOne Marketing & Design of Sunbury was awarded a major print project by Albright Care Services (ACS) of Lewisburg. Out of six ad agency bids, ACS chose PhaseOne to design and execute two comprehensive packets of information for prospective residents, detailing the services, options, and amenities for RiverWoods Senior Living Community in Lewisburg and Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community in York.

PhaseOne designed two complimentary pocket folders with stepped insert sheets customized to each facility. Also included with the project are updates of both facilities’ four-page admission applications and new dining coupons offering a free meal for two at the RiverWoods or Normandie Ridge restaurants.

The packets include detailed campus maps, information on the levels of care and service, as well as on-site amenities and recreation opportunities. The folders and their inserts are designed with complimentary color schemes and use photography taken by PhaseOne at both locations.

ACS also decided to develop an apparel program for both locations with PhaseOne’s sister company, AdOne Advertising Specialties. The program will feature corporate apparel and specialty items personalized with the RiverWoods and Normandie Ridge logos.

Staff attends paper seminar
LANCASTER — PhaseOne staff members recently attended a seminar hosted by Finch Paper and Ris the Paper House in Lancaster.

The seminar educated attendees about printing and design techniques for uncoated paper. Rob Deluke, graphic resources manageer for Finch Paper, reviewed technical, creative, and production issues that occur daily when it comes to choosing paper stock for advertising projects.

All members in attendance received creative samples of uncoated paper stock illustrating exciting new design ideas and possibilities.

PhaseOne one attendees of the June seminar were Michael Tobin, PhaseOne's creative director, Josie Fertig, a graphic designer, and Deena Eberhart, a project coordinator.
